Mothers Peace Rally
On May 7, 2004, Rebecca Rod and a number of UUCP mothers, fathers and kids participated in Moscow’s First Annual Mothers' Peace Rally. The event was inspired by Julia Ward Howe, Unitarian, abolitionist, and author of the Battle Hymn of the Republic, who issued a Mothers' Declaration for Peace in 1870. UUCP members and others in the community gathered in Friendship Square to recite her declaration and to sing songs and raise flags for peace.
