Ayame Village Bicycle Project

On Sunday, April 15, 2007, at 7 p.m., the PPQ (Purple Paisley Quilters) is sponsoring a showing of the acclaimed documentary "Ayamye", filmed in Ghana, about the Village Bicycle Project. Based in Moscow, this organization refurbishes bikes and ships them to Ghana for new lives as transportation for Ghanians. Dave Peckham, founder of Village Bicycle Project, will introduce the film.

The evening will open with a concert of the Sesitshaya Marimba Band. Two shorter films will also be shown; "Ghana Women's Bicycle Initiative", filmed in Ghana, and "Village Bicycle Project: New Life for Old Bikes", filmed here in Moscow.

Admission is via a suggested donation of $5.

We will have many wonderful door prizes. Additional door prize tickets may be purchased for $1 each. You may select which door prize you want to win by placing your ticket in the designated jar.

Come and celebrate this unique and successful program here in Moscow, have a great evening and perhaps win a wonderful door prize. For more information, contact Mary Jo Hamilton via her phone or email (see the 2007 UUCP Directory) or by email to socialaction @ palouseuu . org (remove spaces).
