Step It Up to Action on Global Warming

Moscow residents concerned about the catastrophic effects of global warming will hold a rally on April 14, 2007 to urge Congress to put America on the path towards reducing carbon emissions 80% by 2050. The event is part of the Step it Up Campaign, the largest day of citizen action focusing on global warming in our nation's history.

The Step It Up Moscow event will begin with a group bike ride starting at East City Park, proceeding through downtown Moscow, and ending at the 1912 Building Plaza where participants in the event will be photographed displaying their message: "Step It Up Congress! Cut Carbon 80% by 2050!" This photograph will be sent to Washington, DC along with photos from over 976 other events happening in all 50 states so members of congress can see for themselves that their constituents are demanding bold action.

The Step It Up Moscow event is one of the Palouse Earth Day Association 2007 Earth Month events.

WHERE: The bike parade will begin at the east (Hayes Street) side of East City Park. The rally and photograph will be at the Plaza of the 1912 Building. If you can't make the bike ride, please join us at the 1912 Building for the photographed message.

WHEN: The bike parade will begin at 9:00 AM, Saturday, April 14th and the rally photograph will be at 9:30 AM
