Mother's Day Eve Peace Rally

Saturday, May 12, 2007

Friendship Square Fountain, Main St. at 4th St., Moscow, ID

* 10 a.m. - Kids and all ages help paint peace flags

** Noon - Rally, with singing and readings

Mother's Day has a meaningful history that precedes Hallmark and breakfast-in-bed!

In 1870, Julia Ward Howe, author of The Battle Hymn of the Republic, issued a Declaration calling for women to join together to end war.

Join in with other Mothers and Children, Families and Friends,
to celebrate and reclaim Mother's Day with sign-making, singing,
and a dramatic reading of Julia Ward Howe's Declaration.

Sponsored by the UU Church of the Palouse Social Action Committee and many local friends of peace.

Contact person: Rebecca Rod, who is in the UUCP directory.
