SAC May meeting
The Unitarian Universalist Church of the Palouse Social Action Committee met Wednesday, May 9, 2007 at 7:00 p.m.
1. The Climate Control Group is looking into the feasibility of selling two-wheeled shopping carts at the Farmers Market, to encourage people to walk to the market.
2. The UUCP-SAC booth at Ren Fair done good. Proceeds this year go evenly to Backyard Harvest; Darfur relief via UUSC; Alternatives to Violence on the Palouse, and Planned Parenthood International.
3. There was a Hunger Issues report that touched on the need of local food banks for more volunteers in order to be open more hours, on ways to get excess produce to the food banks, and ways to help Meals On Wheels.
4. Plans were made for the Mother's Day peace rally Saturday.
