Fiber Arts as Social Justice Work

Sunday services November 11, 2007 at 9:30am and 11:00am

Quilt Sunday
Speaker: Judy LaLonde
Celebrants: Members of Purple Paisley Quilters (PPQ)

From Madam LeFarge to the Underground Railroad to the AIDS quilt, fiber arts have been used to convey a social and political message. What a creative way to change the world.

Quilts Wanted! The PPQ is soliciting quilts and other fiber art hangings and coverings to be displayed at the church on Quilt Sunday, November 11. We would love to hear the story of your quilt and share it with the congregation. The quilt can be new or old, perfect or worn, made by you or someone else, we want them all.

Please contact Mary Jo Hamilton or Marguerite Thoreson Browne (they are listed in the church directory) if you have a quilt we can use. We can arrange to pick it up at your home if that would be helpful. Help us celebrate this Sunday honoring the fiber arts.
