Soul Food Potluck

Community event:

On Tuesday, September 25, 2007, beginning at 5:30pm at Moscow's 1912 Center, 412 E. Third Street at the corner of Van Buren Street, the Moscow Human Rights Commission is sponsoring a soul food potluck and community discussion on Racial Equality and Inclusive Community moderated by Mark Edwards, UI Director of Diversity and Community. The event and the food are free. Bring food if you wish.

This year, Moscow has been named by the National League of Cities as the only inclusive city in Idaho.

2nd Annual UUCP / Muslim Picnic

The 2nd annual joint potluck picnic of the Unitarian Universalist Church of the Palouse and the Palouse area Muslim community will be Sunday, September 2 from 12:30pm to 3:30pm at East Side Park in Moscow, Idaho. UUCP participation in preparations and set-up is being organized by the UUCP Social Action Committee.

Set-up will start around 11am. Members and friends of the Unitarian Universalist Church of the Palouse will bring side and main dishes for the picnic. Members of the Muslim community will bring desserts. Juice and water will be provided.

Food should contain no ham, bacon, or any sort of pork, not even as shortening, gelatin, etc. Also no liquor or alcohol, including wine-based salad dressings.

There will be some seating, but you may want to bring your own lawn or camp chair or to bring a blanket or beach towel for sitting on the grass.
